The Spiritually Profound Wisdom of an Ant

“ Go  to the ant thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise” Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

How long will thou sleep O sluggard? When will thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep.

So shall thy poverty come upon as one traveled, and thy want as an armed man.”  Proverbs 6 KJV

If you really want to truly be “BLESSED” spend some time with the Lord in His Word. Know that His blessings go far beyond material things. Your desire should be that He manifests & multiply the Fruit of His Spirit within you daily. Therefore it is always wise to: “Seek ye first His Kingdom & His Righteousness…” Above everything & everyone.

Make God a Top Priority in your daily life!

Blessed is the man/ woman that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his/her delight is in the law of the Lord; and in HIS law does he/ she meditate in day or night. “ Psalm 1 KJV

Ponder upon the illustration of the ant. Embrace the spiritual wisdom the Lord candidly provides. Know this; The Lord can do much with very little. He has given us and inner Guide which is His Holy Spirit, His Comforter to lead and guide us to all TRUTH! It is up to each of us individually to cultivate and build a daily ever increasing strong relationship with the Lord through His Word.

You can learn much from the ant. Be wise!

The ant is a spectacular intriguing insect. They are intelligent kingdom builders. Ants are prolific travelers and are found everywhere on the earth except in Antarctica and a few islands.  There are actually over 12,000 ant species according to National Geographic.   There are  at least (10) ten quadrillions of ants throughout the world.  Although they are very small they are super strong. They build mighty underground hidden complex fortresses.

A few facts about ants.

  1. The ant has no overseer, guide or ruler.
  2. Ants can carry over 50 times their weight.
  3. Ants work together responsively to achieve a predetermined goal.
  4. The colony of ants consists of female workers who form what is called a formicary.
  5. The male ants have wings and they fly. Their function is to mate with the Queen ant.
  6. The queen ant can live up to 30 years.
  7. Ants feel by feet vibrations and send chemical messages to other ants through pheremones.

The Word of God gives us a prodigious example of how a sluggard can learn much from the ant.  A sluggard is a habitually lazy unproductive person.  He or she is encouraged to sleep less and take time to  go observe the ant to learn a vitally important life lesson.

The ant is an autonomous self-starter and proceeds to do whatever is necessary to accomplish their intended goal.  The ant has no overseer, guide or ruler. What is so interesting is the ant does whatever they need to do without a leader. They prepare ahead of time for whatever provisions they may need later on.  They constructively work together when or if needed to perform a task. As a colony they work effusively as a collective whole.

A sluggard by contrast sleeps and does not make preparations. They in fact major in being idle, wasteful, and accomplishing very little.   Therefore, due to their instability they can easily become impoverished and in constant flux or want.

Thrive and strive to pace yourself and always seek a balance. Commit to being productive and living to please the Lord. As the Designer’s Original know He has a purpose and plan for your life. But it is your choice to pursue it.

Life is precious. Yesterday has passed and tomorrow is not promised. So keep pressing onward and upward seeking the will and way of the Lord.

The ant is actually known as the fastest mover in the animal kingdom. No wonder why the Word of God says; “ Consider her ways! “

Living In An Upside Down World Part 2

Whenever any scene or situation presents itself on our life’s canvas we must seek God’s direction to properly apply and paint the intended strokes. Having the proper attitude about God is necessary to deal with any present injustices. Persecution and misunderstanding will attempt to take a dominant position to etch insecurity and doubt onto the forefront of your life canvas.  Yielding subdued hues and shades of gray to subliminally overshadow the main theme. But as you always keep in mind that God knows you.  His Light will shine forth brightly  in the midst, even when darkness tries to impose itself upon you.

We cannot predict the future precisely. However, we can always look to God for direction.  At any given moment He can reveal to us whatever we need to know and  do to accomplish His will within our lives.  However, we must learn to  keep focused,  humble ourselves, pray, trust  and put our faith in God. He is  our Creator and Maker who knows us and will watch over and protect us living in and upside down world.

God allows both good and bad times for all of us. “He is not a respecter of persons.” But he always has our best interest at heart.   We must learn to consistently lean and put our faith and trust in Him. We are to “Walk by Faith!”  In order to not be pulled into whatever is suddenly hurled into your direction even though intended to snarl, derail, discredit our credibility or entrap us, our focus must always be upon HIM! He will direct us through, over it or around it. Better yet, He will remove it when necessary or even demolish it.  We must learn how not to allow insults, injustices or any storm or seasonal moment in time define the totality of our existence.

When you spend time in His presence you can abide under the shadow of The Almighty because you know that He knows and this is what ultimately truly matters. Ecclesiastes tells us that, “There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth; righteous men who get what the wicked deserve, and wicked men who get what the righteous deserve.” The point that I am trying to make is that life has a much deeper meaning than what man sees. Many seek first as a top priority to be affirmed and followed and being recognized in the eyes of man. Momentarily this may satisfy an inner longing, life on this side of heaven is short, there really is a much deeper meaning to life.

If all the wisdom, prestige or power that the world has to offer were available it would be but a minute particle in regards to the infinite wisdom and power of the Lord. Perhaps this is why Jesus Christ made Himself of no reputation? Yes we are in the world but; ” it is Him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 18.  Although often unrecognized or whenever accepted by the masses Christ Jesus did not deter from His life purpose. He remained faithful and committed to the will of His Father in and often, cruel, harsh upside down world.

God sees and knows it all. It is not merely how things appear or seem. We all will have to stand before an all knowing all wise omniscient God who knows where our hearts and minds are as well as our intentions. Man can do no more than God allows… Know the Lord and His Word so you are not towed along with the “false teaching” of anyone. Ephesians says “have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything is exposed to the Light becomes visible, for the Light makes everything visible…”

God tells us to live as children of the Light. When you are truly walking in the Light you know without doubt that whatever darkness tries to overshadow your life’s canvas, that your Creator, your maker, our Heavenly Father is absolutely aware. In all things trust God for in His time He will always make a way for us when we are committed to His will. You can surely trust Him to keep you right side up, living in and upside down world.

Notice how most animals walk on all fours. God Created us as His children to walk uprightly. Our hands should be readily available to reach up and Praise Him! It is important to always be aware of what is going on about us. To be cognizant of our environment wherever we are.  We do not want to live in denial, neither is it healthy.  We are forever growing as long as God has us on this side of Heaven. Keep in mind, Jesus did not come to depress nor oppress us,  but to correct and enlighten us to a better way of life.  Life without God is futile and meaningless.

God’s Word is our life manual and the most incredible  essential intrinsic tool to help us successfully navigate through life. It is our spiritual sword and it cuts both ways when used properly. It cuts, carves, enhances, molds and shapes  us  like nothing else. We can find hope in the midst of sorrow, joy in the midst of sadness, comfort in the midst of pain, encouragement in the midst of persecution and peace within our awesome God. This remains true within the midst of this upside down world!

Contending for the Faith Part 2

God never intended for Christianity to become a legalistic doctrinal concept of rules and regulations.  God will  write His laws within your heart as you embrace His Word. Christianity is a daily lifestyle! The HOUSE of GOD is supposed to be the PILLAR of TRUTH! Learn to  focus more on the Lord than upon your issues when you are in worship. Yes, be mindful and cognizant of what is going on all around you. For spiritual warfare persists everywhere…  And remember  your place of worship is supposed to be a place where the Spirit of the Lord is welcomed. Many gather and assemble together to worship, thank, honor, adore and praise GOD.

It is written!

The Apostle Paul writes to Timothy. He was concerned about what was going on during worship. He was well aware of the contentions as well as the false unspiritual teaching that was circulating. Paul charges Timothy as a Pastor to teach sound doctrine, war a good warfare, embrace his faith and steadfastly adhere to the Word of God. These concerns remain today. Paul writes;

These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

But if I tarry long, that thou oughtest to behave thyself in the House of God, which is the Church of the living God, the Pillar and Ground of Truth.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received into glory.” I Timothy 3

Christ died so we could have an abundant spiritual life in every way. Yet today many make their issues the theme of life and ministry. Jesus did not come to build hospitals or mausoleums.  He could have built places of worship for all his disciples or simply spoke them into existence… Think about Joseph his earthly father was a professional carpenter. The Gospel is about Christ Jesus from the beginning.

Jesus came to give us a better life and to teach us the way; centered upon God. He came to overcome sin in the flesh and show us how to live victoriously in the Lord.  Everything was spoken into existence through Him and everything consists by and for Him. He came to share with us the beauty of His creation. And to direct us on; “the path of righteousness for His namesake.” Yes indeed, He died on the cross and rose with all power for us all to have an abundant life in every way.

Much is going on in these latter days.

“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils…” I Timothy 4

Jesus made no one feel comfortable in sin. It is so very important to know God’s Word for yourself. This way you will not easily be misled. Notice what happens  as  you read  His Word. Your understanding will expand and your faith will increase. You will learn how He always stood for what was right.   Jesus was terribly misunderstood by those who should have known better.   He was falsely accused.  As a matter of fact it was the religious leaders that conspired to discredit Jesus and secretly sought to destroy Him. How ironic they called Him evil. All due to their own insecurity. They actually chose to go into denial rather than embrace the principles of Truth of His Word.  Does any of this sound familiar?

The Holy Spirit will convict us of sin!

No, things will not always go your way. But the Lord can bring you through any situation with His peace. He wants you to draw closer to Him everyday. God has a plan for your life. It is our choice to discover it. For; “Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life!” The Bible is the inspired Word of God. “It is a Lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path…”

The gift of Salvation and Eternal Life is one of the most precious gifts one can ever receive. Along with that gift comes the promise of His Holy Spirit; the Comforter and ultimate internal Teacher. As you learn and apply His Word it will be written upon the table of your heart. Your desire to live for the Lord and contend for the faith will grow. Jude extends to us mercy, peace and love in abundance through Christ Jesus.  When Jesus ascended to heaven He fulfilled that promise that; the Holy Spirit would come. Jesus prepared His disciples for His departure. He knew when He came that He would eventually return to Heaven. At His appointed time Christ Jesus will return for His Church that still remains.

He told them “Nevertheless I tell you the TRUTH. It is to your advantage that I go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment; of sin, because they do not believe in Me, of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. I still have many things to say to you, BUT you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of TRUTH, has come, He will guide you into All truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come… JOHN 16

Jude known as the brother of Jesus Christ tells us that we have a duty to fight for GOD’S TRUTH! Not in a physical carnal way. Our weapons are not carnal! But they are mighty. We must daily stay adorned with the spiritual armor.  For we can pull down strongholds… Deliverance is possible. A believers, our lives don’t belong to us for we belong to God. The Apostle Paul teaches us the importance of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “PRAY also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the GOSPEL, for which I am an Ambassador in chains. PRAY that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should” See Ephesians 6

Without doubt we are in the last days and the Word of God is being fulfilled! Look around and be attentive to all the worldwide perils that continue to daily persist. We need not be afraid but prayerful! It is important to persevere knowing that God is with you. For GOD is omnipresent. Jude says: “But dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, “In the last times, there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are the men who divide you. Who follow mere natural instincts and DO NOT have the SPIRIT. But you, dear friends build yourself up in your most HOLY FAITH and pray in the HOLY SPIRIT. Keep yourselves up in God’s LOVE as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh…

One must only watch the news, read the newspaper or search online to see that time is near! By the way; everything you see or hear that is going on via face book is not true. Daily; just about “Anything goes!”  This world is on a “Slippery Slope!”  There is was not only ongoing consequences from the   Economic Recession but a “SPIRITUAL RECESSION” continues as well.  But know this; THERE IS NEVER LACK OR A RECESSION IN HEAVEN! Many of our churches are sometimes allowing carnal worldly teachings… Bible study on some occasions have even turned to group think and mind conditioning.  Often ridded with many coded messages to point out those who do not conform to the group. God never intended for us to give up our individuality.  Uniformity is not the same thing as unity.

Respect for God and His Word are  all too often laid aside; carnality takes the forefront because somebody says; “I’m human” The time of increased Apostasy is definitely here! Meaning the abandoning of Faith. LORD HELP US! Anyone can be subject to error.  When someone says something that you know is not true.  Know that it is not from GOD! This is why we all need His Holy Spirit to convict the heart of sin and keep us pointed unto righteousness. What is righteousness? It is right living and thinking in the eyes of God! Sin is anything that separates us from God! Jude says: Remember Sodom and Gomorrah?  well, God has not changed. This is why Jesus left us His Holy Spirit!

Live or begin to live each day; “To GOD BE the GLORY!” Having an encounter with God regularly will bring you closer to Him.  Take time throughout your day to “PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!” Shift your mind to the Lord continuously.  This is how you stay connected to the Lord.  Remember God is omniscient He wants to open your understanding and make you even more aware. He can and  will open your “spiritual eyes.” This is also why we must daily contend for the Faith, so know His Word and stand firm!

Thank You Holy Father for sanctifying us through Christ Jesus and calling us  as your Elders/Ministers and Ambassadors. We are not called to conform to this world. But to uphold HIS WORD. We are called to to daily “Contend for the Faith!”

REPENT!!!

If you have grown slack in your commitment to God; He can speak renewal and strength into your heart. If you are depressed or oppressed  He can lift you up and take you to wherever you need to be. When GOD says He can deliver you HE CAN! However, you must humbly submit to HIS WILL and diligently pursue TRUTH! GOD can bring a plan and a purpose into your life like no other. This is what Jude leaves us with;  “To HIM who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great JOY to the only GOD and SAVIOR be GLORY, MAJESTY, POWER and AUTHORITY, through JESUS CHRIST our LORD, before all ages, now and forevermore! AMEN!!!”

Embracing the Fruit of the Spirit within your marriage “Self- Control” Part 9 No. 3 of 3

Embracing the Fruit of the Spirit within your marriage “Self-Control”

Couple in Grass

Part 9 No. 3 of 3

Trust and good communication are crucial values within a great marriage. Transparency and intimacy are built upon trust. It is really important to not rush into making any decisions that will impact the rest of your life. Take time and first consider the consequences! There is always much to learn about one another. Keep your marriage exciting. Progressively work on building good communication skills. You can maintain the spark that brought you together. Or if you have allowed it to dwindle you can rekindle it.

Here are few final things to keep in mind

Make it a point to have some good healthy quality discussions before you jump heart first into marriage. If you are already married take the time to find out how your spouse feels, thinks and processes their thoughts and emotions. Please don’t just assume. Feelings need to be validated.

Have some deep heartfelt discussions. You need to really know what one another values.

You are two different individuals who must learn to walk together. It is possible but it takes commitment and transparency. Emotional intimacy is important in marriage.

Each marriage has its own unique dynamics. Here are a few suggestions and  questions to ponder and discuss.

What are your likes and dislikes? How do feel about children? What are your beliefs in regards to discipline? How do you feel about the manner in why you both handle discipline? How do you both resolve conflict? Who or what do they believe in? How do they feel about God and prayer? What are your spouses moral standards or convictions or do they have any at all… Is faithfulness important? What does it really mean to be faithful? Are there any abuse issues that need to be addressed? Are there any addictions? Is divorce an option? These are a few of the many things you want to discuss and ponder in order to build a better marriage!

When you both share the same  values, morals and goals it helps to build a healthier emotional bond. You have the needed components necessary to build a strong foundation  for your marriage. This also accelerates your marriage to a higher functioning level.

If you do not have much in common you really need to have some serious discussion about what you are expecting from one another.  What are your goals for your marriage? You need to at least have  some idea as to the direction your marriage is headed.

The growing trend today is to simply just change partners when you are not happy. Infidelity is a big No no. It is vaguely possible but few marriages ever really recover from continued infidelity.  Which really  is not marriage; but  it is a revolving door.  This  breeds distrust and insecurity.   Many proceed in denial not resolving the present void or distrust.  When trust has been broken  it must be restored or this will become a pattern. As adults you have the right to decide, but you always should consider the long and short term consequences. Divorce or continued conflict  is inevitable when not fully addressed.

I recommend taking some time to rid yourself of some of the baggage that you have been carrying before jumping into another marriage. All too often it is just pushed to the side only to rise and cause even greater problems the second or even third time around further down the road.  If you are already married work with what you have. Revisit your vows. Take inventory and then set some goals together. It’s important to make plans together.  Your marriage won’t just work itself out.

The grass looks greener on the other side of the fence. The TRUTH is its greener because they water it consistently, and feed and  take care of it. Your marriage will be what you both make it.

Now is the time to begin to exercise self-control as well as fervently embrace all the rest of the “Fruit of the Spirit.” After all you have  or did make a Covenant with one another and to God… This makes your marriage a Holy agreement. Therefore seek quality Holy Help whenever necessary.

Praying together is important! “Praying without ceasing” all throughout your day keeps you connected to the Lord.

Happiness is a choice, so you both need to decide to make this a mutual goal. There will be highs and lows. So always make love deposits of care, concern, love, respect, romance and thoughtfulness to your marriage. This will help you weather the storms. This helps you to rise above the storm.  You cannot change one another. But you can create a healthy atmosphere that fosters change. There is always room for improvement in all of us. You can help bring out the better qualities in one another. Or you can bring out the worst in one another. Take note of your personal progress. Work on becoming the “Best You.” Your marriage should always be a priority. Working together will have amazing results!

Exercising self-control is a choice. If you are weak in this area. Get right!  Rather than tearing one another down all the time build one another up! Chastise one another in love instead to encourage self improvement. Withdraw from nagging.  Don’t allow carnality rule your life. Have some good healthy dialogue and let what has hindered your marriage to this point go and move forward as partners.

No, you do not go forward in denial. Forgiving does not mean forgetting. It means that you have decided to let whatever it is go, and move forward not holding the offense against them. The past becomes a reminder of your decision to let go and move on. You make a point to consciously let go of the old offenses and make way for the new awaiting life.  This is a lifestyle change!  This is possible when you don’t allow  the past to  become the present…  Each day now becomes a new day for building a better marriage.

Welcome embracing all the “Fruit of the Spirit” in your life everyday. I assure you that in the long run, you will be much happier. Your spouse will also benefit greatly.  You can do it; because happiness is a choice!

By the way, if you are divorced, in the process of a divorce married or remarried make a sincere attempt to not involve the children in your disputes.  If you have; STOP!  DON’T TRY AND MAKE ADULTS OUT OF CHILDREN. They are already suffering because of the disharmony that they see or sense between you. Please don’t use them as message carriers.   It is selfish to use them for your emotional support.  You both are supposed to be their caregivers…  After all, your first priority should be for their emotional wellbeing.

The truth is you two were not able to resolve your own  conflicts. Children are more observant than you think. You have been in an emotional battle and it has spawned some residual hurt feelings. Their resentment will surface in many ways due to the collateral damage they are experiencing.  This may not have been your intention but there is a residual of resentment.  Give your children the opportunity to express themselves. But it is important that they are  always encouraged to be responsible and respectful.  Seek to break the cycle of dysfunction. They still need to learn how to develop healthy coping skills and so do you as parents.  Let this encourage you to model to them the “Fruit of the Spirit” as you all move forward together or  separately.

Be careful of who you receive counsel from or who you allow to speak into your marriage or your life. Be accountable to God for your behavior. Make sure that you own up to your contribution of whatever problems or issue your marriage is experiencing. Marriage is a team effort. But it does not necessarily take a team to destroy it.   By one spouse’s own willful behavior divorce can result.  It  does take both of you working together not against one another to make it work.

Diligently seek the Lord’s direction. Make it a priority to take time to; “BE STILL and KNOW”
Psalm 46

As a believer it should always be more important to you to please GOD.
This does not mean getting caught up in activities. You must commit to spend time with the Lord in His Word and draw closer to Him. This is where  and how you will gain healthier spiritual strength.  There really is nothing more important. GOD IS OMNISCIENT! When you seek HIM above all else there are marvelous benefits. Know that  your body is the Temple of God. You need to feed and nurture your sou. Think and ponder upon  this for a moment; God is the Creator of Heaven and earth. He is the Creator of man and woman. No one knows better than He about anything. He can and will direct you in every area of your life.

Marriage God’s way can and does work. But you both must be willing to mutually embrace His godly principles and actually implement them within your marriage. God wants to be a part of every area of your life. God does not want you to spend your life unhappy or broken. But He does want you to take seriously the vows that you both made to Him. You can recover from this.  But recovery takes hard work!

Everyday is a precious “GIFT” from the Lord. What you do with your life is your gift to Him. So, get busy building a marriage that lasts. May your efforts in Holy Matrimony prevail!

“But the Fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self Control…” Galatians 5. May they manifest, multiply and abound within your lives and your marriage!

May God’s  Eternal Love begin to flourish and abound between you!

Embracing the Fruit of the Spirit within your marriage “Self-Control” Part 9 No. 2 of 3

Embracing the Fruit of the Spirit within your marriage “Self-Control”

Couple in Grass

Part 9

No. 2 of 3

Marriage is a spiritual battle ground in this 21st century. Look around you! Division wants to nest itself within your marriage; so be aware. Have you noticed the frequency in which couples are divorcing? Why is this? Many enter into marriage without first really getting to know this person who they have promised to love and cherish.

Take the time to get to know one another better rather than to simply co exist. For your marriage to endure it is important to build a strong foundation.

Self-control is a viable component of a strong healthy marriage. There are many forces at works to create havoc within your marriage. One must pray for discernment. It is important that you make your marriage and one another’s wellbeing an important priority. Self-control when consistently exercised will help both of you enhance and safeguard your marriage.

Marriage is serious business and is not for immature people. Immaturity is ageless so just because you are getting older does not necessarily mean that you are ready. There are some things you need to consider. Selfishness and either spouse being self-centered will hinder your marriage from growing in a healthy manner.

Marriage ideally speaking is for one man and one woman who are in one way or another  flawed. Yet learn to rise above their imperfections.   Who desire to want to mature and grow together and become better individuals working together as a committed team. “ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of GOD…” Therefore no matter how much we grow in the Lord’s  grace there is always room for improvement as long as He has us on this side of Heaven.

Each day we are to strive for the perfection that can only  be discovered in the Lord.  “GOD IS LOVE!”  It is in HIM  you can increasingly become complete. GOD would not say ” Be ye therefore  perfect even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect…”  Matthew 5  If it were not possible God would not tell us otherwise.   It is with the help of the Lord we can become all that He has created us to be and become.

Oneness in marriage is actually designed to a harmonic journey. Trust and security are components of a good solid marriage. You are aware that the Lord is Omnipresent. You reverently fear Him so you not only respect your marriage but the marriages  of others as well. Marriage should not be taken lightly. In the spiritual sense “two become one” as they are united and committed in their desire to grow in love. True Love has no end.

Always remember  and keep in mind what the WORD teaches us.  Each spouse should seek to become perfect in the Lord. This is not an unattainable goal. It requires dedication and perseverance. However it is quite often misunderstood from a carnal perspective. Becoming perfect in the Lord means to become complete in HIM. Everything that you will ever need for Life & Living can be discovered in an ever growing personal intimate relationship with the Lord. He would not tell us to be perfect if it were not so. In of ourselves we will always fall short. HIS Holy Spirit is always present to HELP US. HE IS THE ULTIMATE COMFORTER. As you begin to really embrace the TRUTH of HIS WORD you can responsively say; “I CAN DO ALL THINGS through CHRIST who STRENGTHENS ME” Philippians 4. It is our choice to become disciplined and constantly reach for HIS HOLY HELP!

In marriage you learn to give up “me ness for we ness!”

Self-control helps you to honor your marriage vows. You choose to not let the world and it’s ever changing morality influence your commitment to one another. Instead together you elect to influence the world. You confront issues in love. It is important to not let resentment fester. You embrace your vows and commence to live out your lives working together through any difficulties. You realize that it is mere spiritual warfare designed to pull you away from your Center. When God is truly the Center of your marriage, Your love blossoms and continuously grows as you soar through life and enjoy the many mountaintop experiences as well.

The Fruit of the Spirit are essential virtues that have precious intrinsic worth that will solidify your marriage. “GOD IS LOVE” Love is part of the Fruit of HIS Spirit. LOVE is truly a priceless GIFT from the LORD. When you both strive to build a healthy living environment that welcomes love, harmony; trust and respect together you really can build a fulfilling, satisfying strong marriage.

A godly marriage is Holy Matrimony.

In HiM we live and move and have our being Part 2

Too often the preservation of our traditions, careers, jobs, recreational & religious activities and lifestyles are more important than what God wants for us. As long as we invite His presence into whatever we are doing He will keep us on the Narrow Path. God wants to be a part of every area of our lives. All of God’s Word is true! God does not need us, but  we all certainly  need Him through Eternity. This is why He has given us Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. It is only with Him can we overcome sin.

Sin separates us from God. When we commit to HIS WORD as we grow spiritually we learn to sin less. As a result we actually begin exercising self-control. It is each individual’s choice to accept Christ Jesus into their heart as Savior and Lord. Just take a look around this world He has made and see the results of “doing your own thing.” Perilous times are now upon us. Notice all the extreme tragedies… Things have gone  much too far. But if you check out God’s Word you will find that there is “nothing new under the sun.”

God has been quite patient with us. But this never means that He condones any sin. He gave us Christ Jesus to help us from allowing the power of sin to reign within our daily lives. As believers each of us must learn to consistently better exercise self-control. It is part of the Fruit of His Spirit. Diligently seek the “Will and Way” of the Lord above all.

With the Lord there is always hope!

God has created each of us with a plan in mind. He has; “Blessed us in the Heavenly realms with every spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus for He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight…”  Ephesians 1. He disperses His blessings as He sees fit.   In the Lord we can discover everything that we will ever need for life, daily living and eternal life. The problem is we allow life to get in the way. But this does not have to be. God really does have a better way.

We cannot change anything that has happened. But we can always begin anew,  learning  invaluable life lessons that  can help us  become better people. This is true once we really begin to include God in the equation rather than as an afterthought. This does not mean that everything will always be just fine.  Actually just the opposite for the spiritual warfare has heightened. It will be ongoing to the Lord calls us home. Or either until Jesus returns… And quite often it is designed to rock your world. But guess what when you  truly build  or begin to build your foundation on the Lord Jesus Christ you then become grounded and rooted within Him; for He is “The Solid Rock.”

Things are not always as they appear.  There is much going on in the world and in and around God’s Church as well. Life takes on a deeper meaning when you realize that with Him you have Eternal life.   I always say; “I do not want the Lord to be a stranger when I see Him face to face.”  The Lord will help you make it through ALL the challenges that life presents.  He also brings about some wonderful refreshing times as well. In His time when you love Him, He will “Work all   things together for the GOOD!”

Few really like healthy confrontation. They become evasive and avoid dealing with the problem unless or until they become angry. From a counseling point of view I find it very helpful in resolving issues. It easily squashes gossip. It is healthy to seek to resolve issues readily rather than allow them to ferment. This is also how we become spiritually mature. Quite often over a period of time a lot of garbage gets on the line and the facts become distorted. Know when to clean house.

It is important to always be willing to take responsibility for what you say. Therefore say what you mean and mean what you say. This should never be done in a malicious way. Self control is the better part of valor. It is also part of the Fruit of the Spirit. The intent and motive should always be to improve and enhance the quality of a relationship. It can be quite rewarding when confrontation is handled properly.

Redemptive confrontation is good!

God has given us His Word as a life manual. He loves us so much that He allowed His only begotten Son Jesus to come to earth wrapped in a sinless body of flesh, live a victorious sinless life, suffer & die upon the cross, then raise  Him from the dead  with all power and  overcome sin for us.    Now that’s  ultimate POWER!  He took back the power from the  unseen principalities…  It is because of His great love for us that He made it possible for us to be reconciled back to our Heavenly Father.   WOW!  We no longer  have to live being a slave to sin.  Sin  is what separates us from God.  You never have to be alone;  because  everywhere we  are God is there!

God’s love makes us stronger.  His Word teaches us “Finally be strong in  The Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggles are not against flesh and blood…”  Ephesians 6.

We can learn to “overcome evil with GOOD”  But it is your choice? It is time to really start living your life everyday to please God rather than being a slave to sin, or conforming to the ways of this world.   Instead be transformed by the renewing of your mind!  However, we must learn to love God’s way,  humble ourselves, repent whenever necessary  and call upon Him to help us rise above sin that wants to separate us from the Lord. This also why we all need Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord! God has not left us alone to fend for ourselves. Thank You Lord for Your precious Holy Spirit. So get busy and  always remember this;  Through Jesus Christ we have the Victory!

In HiM we live and move and have our being Part 1

“In Him we live and move and have our being” Beauriful Chapel

There is no way getting around God! You can  try to ignore Him. You can choose not to believe in Him. You can have a surface relationship with Him that makes you feel  comfortable?   You can have a weekend relationship with Him and simply   just attend Worship Services every Sabbath Saturday or Sunday and just go right back to living however it is you please all during the week.   But you will not experience his abiding inner peace.  Or, you can make it your goal to draw closer to Him everyday and  really invite Him into the messiness of your life. This is how we can build a strong secure solid  intimate relationship with Him.

God will and can give you His peace that surpasses the understanding of man.  It is your choice!  God does not force Himself into your life. Everywhere you are God is there.  He is The Most High God. He is Omnipresent!

“The GOD who made the world and everything in it is The LORD of Heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.  And He is not served by human hands,  as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all  men life and breath and everything else.  From  one man He made very nation of men, that they should inhabit  the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and  the exact places where they should live.  God did this so  that men would seek Him and perhaps  reach out to Him and find Him though  He is not far from each one of us ‘For in HIM we live and move and have our being.’ As some  of your own poets  have said. ‘We are His offspring.”  Acts 17

Christianity is meant to be an ever growing daily life long lifestyle! It means that we are supposed to learn, embrace and implement the principles of His Word within our lives  everyday.  Remember HiM = Him in me!

“God is Love!” God is eternal and  so is His Love.  He created us so we could learn how to love, grow spiritually,  enjoy life  His way and extend His love that begins to  flow through us  naturally when we are connected to Him. His love draws others to us.  With love comes much responsibility this is why we must learn to become disciplined.  There is much deception about us due to spiritual warfare. It is important to know that you cannot fool GOD.  Not everyone understands what true love really is.

“GOD IS LOVE!” True love does not manipulate!  God’s love is patient, kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record  of wrongs.  His love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth.  (See  Corinthians 13)

God’s love does not suffocate. Nor does it make you comfortable in sin. It protects not out of insecurity but out of concern. Sin is anything that separates you from God.  It was Moses’ Mother who loved him enough to allow him to float down the Nile River in “an ark of bulrushes” to safety. The King of Egypt had given an order for the Hebrew babies to be killed. This is one of many examples of the power of God’s protection. Moses is known as one of the greatest Biblical leaders. He spent many years encouraging the children of Israel to live lives pleasing to God.  For more details See Exodus 2. Take some time to learn more about God’s love in His Word.

Society gets confused between love and lust.  God’s Love is Eternal. There is a worldly love that mimics His love. It is selfish not sincere. This is what I call “intoxicating affections.”  It is important to be able to distinguish between the two.  One should pray for spiritual discernment.

God created us in His image for a purpose.  It is God’s desire for us to continuously build an ever increasing up close and personal growing relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.  During our fellowship and personal devotion time with Him we are being transformed.  God has placed a void in all of us that only He can fill. The more we become like  Him we learn how to  better properly love.  God’s love is eternal.  God’s spiritual gifts begin to grow and multiply within our lives as we stay connected to Him who is the ultimate source of love.

Know that God is totally aware of; where each one of us are or where we are not.  He knows our strengths and weaknesses. As we grow in His Grace and the knowledge of Him our weaknesses diminish as we wholeheartedly embrace and apply the Truth of His Word within our daily  lives. He gives us the power to over come them.  He continuously shapes and mold us in His image as we embrace and apply His Word to our lives.

God has given each one of us an inborn unique  natural temperament.  He did not create us to be like anyone else. He extends His grace and love to us daily. He wants us to have better home lives, better marriages, relationships and better families.

He even wants you to have better lives if you are single. He wants all of us to have better relationships with one another as the family of God. He does not want us to conform to the ways of this word. Nor does He want us to compromise HIS principles. Many of the ways of the world have nested themselves within the midst of God’s Church. He wants us to have better  healthier worship services, work, school, play  and recreational environments as well. God did not create us to become puppets. He wants us to become whole!  Becoming whole means to be complete in Him. God wants what is best for us in every area of our lives. But all too often He is left out of the equation when deciding what we want and what really is best for us.

Spiritual Food For Thought & Spiritual Growth 10

~ Spiritual Food For Thought & Spiritual Growth! ~

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of The GOSPEL of CHRIST. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you STAND firm in one SPIRIT, contending as one man for the FAITH of The GOSPEL without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be SAVED! ~ and that by GOD! For it has been granted to you on behalf of CHRIST not only to BELIEVE on HIM, but also to suffer for HIM, since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had and now hear that I still have.” Philippians 1 ~ WORD FOR TODAY ~

~ THOUGHT FOR TODAY ~

The Apostle Paul continuously encourages the believers to TRUST GOD and STAND upon HIS WORD! He does not seek to make anyone comfortable in sin. It was not his intent to allow them to become dependent upon him, but to be ever mindful of the LORD’S presence in their daily  life wherever they were. Accepting JESUS CHRIST into your heart does not mean that life will always be; “A bed of roses without thorns.” It is clear that Paul’s goal was to strengthen them in their walk with the LORD and encourage ALL believers to STAND firm upon the WORD of GOD if alone or together wherever they were.

” Latter Day Spiritual Warfare”

There is much dissension within the CHURCH today in these “Latter days” over denominational differences and practices. The Spiritual Warfare has heightened.  Many embrace a liberal and somewhat lax approach to the WORD of GOD others are dogmatic, quite controlling and or legalistic. Some a bit comical and saturated with much worldliness. Some congregations have a somewhat cult like environment that encourages “group think” and exclusivity among their members. Unconditional acceptance is given to those who comply… Some just want to impress others to join and increase membership, attendance, tithes & offerings. LORD HELP US!

The majority, however, are very inviting to all yet still STAND firm on THE WORD… Therefore, one must be discerning & prayerful whenever or wherever in attendance. Be cognizant of what is going on around you. Study fervently and daily apply and embrace the Truth of God’s Word. Be attentive whenever the Word is going forth. Let this not “quench the Spirit” within you. “Yet simply, have an “exit ear” to the things that are contrary to sound doctrine. “PRAY without ceasing” ALL throughout worship and invite the presence of the LORD for ALL to benefit. KEEP YOUR FOCUS on the LORD!

“More GOSPEL; less gossip.” The “Last Days” are upon us.

“PREACH THE WORD; be prepared in every season and out of season; correct rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. Instead to suit their own desires, they will gather teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the TRUTH and turn aside to myths. But you keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist …” II Tmothy 2

” I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my Help. My Help cometh from the Lord which made Heaven and earth.” Psalm 121

THE CHURCH BELONGS TO GOD. THE CHURCH IS THE BRIDE OF CHRIST. GOD IS PREPARING & CLEANSING HIS CHURCH TO PREPARE HER FOR THE COMING OF CHRIST JESUS! NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY. THEREFORE WE ARE TO LIVE AS THOUGH WE ARE EXPECTATING HIM EVERYDAY!

CHRIST GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS CHURCH; “…THAT HE MIGHT PRESENT IT TO HIMSELF A GLORIOUS CHURCH, NOT HAVING SPOT OR WRINKLE, OR ANY SUCH THING; BUT THAT IT SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLEMISH…” EPHESIANS 5

We serve and all knowing omniscient God!

GOD is absolutely and totally aware of everything that has happened within HIS CHURCH. He knows ALL that is happening and ALL that will happen within HIS CHURCH. He also knows what is happening within ALL of our lives throughout this world. God is amazing! Nothing comes our way that He is not aware of, He either ordains it or allows it. In HIS time He works it all together for our good when we are “Called according to HIS purpose.” God wants to be a part of every area of our lives. Each day is a day to draw close to the Lord. To allow Him to manifest and multiply the Fruit of HIS Spirit within us.

It is important to STAND upon the WORD of GOD. Yes, there are times when we will be misunderstood… But so was CHRIST JESUS! Suffering is part of being a Believer. Know that GOD will bless us despite of what others do. They cannot undermine who we are in the eyes of the Lord. It is important to live your life daily to please God regardless of what others say or do.

WE CAN “STAND UPON GOD’S PROMISES” KNOWING THAT NO man, or woman ,nor anything can ever pluck us out of HIS HANDS! HOLY FATHER, WE THANK YOU FOR THE “SECURITY & SIGNIFICANCE” WE HAVE IN YOU!

When you STAND for what is RIGHT the LORD STANDS with You! “The gates of hell WILL NOT PREVAIL ” against the LORD’S CHURCH! Keep in mind that we the people are GOD’S TRUE CHURCH! Daily adorn the Armor of God. “BE GOD’S CHURCH EVERYDAY AND EVERYWHERE!” True unity in the SPIRIT is based upon our desire and determination to share and daily live out the infallible GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST!

~ LIVE EVERYDAY; “ TO GOD BE THE GLORY! ” ~

Getting Your Joy Back! Part 5

Joy comes in the morning!

God’s Joy can sustain you!

When a trial comes you are still able to experience God’s Joy! As a matter of fact Isaiah says; “God will keep you in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on HIM.” In order for this to be so you must learn to Trust Him. This trust grows as you continuously develop an intimate personal relationship with Him. As you begin to think about God as the ultimate Father your possibilities are limitless. This is why it is so important to have the Lord in your life. As you focus upon Him while going through God will then give you His peace to go through the conflict. God is a God of PEACE and JOY!

Let the Lord put a song in your heart

God can meet you wherever you are!

Wherever you are God knows. I know that He can get you wherever you need to be.  So, If you are ever down and need a pick me up! PRAY! Then begin to actually put HIS WORD into practice. Praise and worship God regularly . I am beyond grateful for the Lord keeping me on the straight and Narrow Path.

God has uniquely designed each one of us. Everyone has a different testimony. But I am sure that there is some elements here in this song that is relatable. There is a song that I want to share with you. If you don’t have the strength ask Him for direction for He knows.   The Words here  are so profound and I am sure that wherever you are you will find some of  the words helpful. This is one of the worship songs from the “Gospel Music Workshop of America”

“I Got My Joy back.”

I got my Joy back. I got a new lease on life. I got my Joy back, down in my soul. Since I let Him have full control. I’ll will let nothing separate me from His Love again. He restored my Joy and revived my soul again! Just like the prodigal son. I found myself in the hog pen. Oh, you know how satan can dress up sin, satan will make wrong seem right. That’s why we’ve got to stay Prayed up, and Focused, and keep looking to the LIGHT!

God has been so good to me. I thought I was exempted from trials and tests. From a little child I’ve been abundantly blessed. Every materialistic thing, I wanted, My Mother had it for me there. But I Thank God she NEVER forgot to lead me to the House of Prayer. But when my test came, I stumbled, but I did not fall, I had the Holy Ghost, embedded within me. In God I did REJOICE. That He would lead me, and guide me, when I couldn’t see my way. Yes, He restored my JOY, and He revived my soul again!”

Through Christ Jesus you can do all things

I can truly say; “THE JOY of the LORD IS MY STRENGTH!” I know and realize that without the Lord I/we are nothing but just walking, breathing shaped formed dust. But Praise be to God He tells us through our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus “we can do all things.”

GOD truly can give you; “HIS PEACE that surpasses the understanding of man!” Patience is not a hallmark of our society. Tolerance is, but this is not the same thing as patience. Patience comes from God. “BE STILL & KNOW!”  God’s grace is sufficient. Exercise your Faith knowing that; He is more than able in any and every situation. Yes, sometimes we will have to wait; Then like an eagle we can soar high above the clouds!  We can always and forever trust God & His Word!   Its time to move towards getting your JOY BACK!  Remember;  GOD IS FAITHFUL & HE ALWAYS KEEPS HIS PROMISES!
