“We Need To Pray”

Everyday on my way to the office, I pass by a number of homeless individuals. Several ask me for money. Some I try to help, by giving them a few dollars, to get a meal to help them throughout the day.

One young man in particular, named Bobby, I always stop and chat with. He sees me coming a ways off and calls out to me, “Pastor”. So I prepare myself for a ministerial moment.

You see, Bobby never asks me for money. Instead, he wants to converse about the Word of God, because what he really wants is food for his soul. So we will spend several minutes conversing.

What I soon realized in some of our earlier meetings, Bobby is not a stranger to the Word of God, and at one point in his life, he faithfully attended church meetings, and has done some studying of the Word.

But he’s now dealing with some trials and tribulations that have him in this situation.

I do my best to feed him the Word of God, for I know God’s Word will not return void. Often times he’s looking for answers to some of his challenges. So when we finish, I also tell him “We Need To Pray”

When I finish chatting with Bobby, I pass by this church building. Most days I don’t pay it much attention , except for Thursday. You see, on Thursday, there’s a long line of people, made up of women, men, and children, pretty much all races of people. Some are able bodied, some are in wheel chairs. All are there to receive the food that is handed out by the church.

It is indeed a very good thing this church does. For God has said in His Word, but whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? I can only imagine, for some in the line, its the best meal they get all week.

Each Thursday as I pass the line, I can see on their faces sadness, broken hearts, and despair. I say to myself, if it wasn’t for the grace of God, there go I. And immediately acknowledge, thank God, and whisper a prayer for all those who are in the line.

I can see that this is the result of trials and tribulations, and not necessarily something they’ve brought on themselves. I often ask myself, “why is this”, then I’m reminded of the scripture where Jesus says “these things I have spoken unto you, that in me, you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”.

Yes, we will have trials and tribulations, but we must still be faithful during the trials and tribulations. We Need To Pray.

This scene at the church, also reminds me of a song from years ago, which I used to play for one of the many choirs I directed. It escapes me who wrote it, however, the lyrics causes one to reflect, on some of the troubling times people experience in life, from which none of us are exempt. Some have greater needs than others, but we all have need to pray. You see if God gave us everything we need, then we wouldn’t have need to pray.

The song simply says:

Somebody’s heart, must be broken each day. Sorrow and sadness, must come somebody’s way. Somebody’s life must be filled with despair. No where to go, but to God in prayer.

Someone must go hungry, and beg for bread. No shelter to cover, his poor, weary , head. No one to care, and no one to share, another day’s burden that seems so hard to bare.

Oh, but there must be. There must be hills and mountains to climb. Some roads that are rough, and some troubling times. But if God gave us everything we need, then we wouldn’t have need to pray.

We Need To Pray.

I can remember growing up, how I would hear the elders, of which I am now an elder, say “prayer is the key, and faith unlocks the door”.

We Need To Pray.

We Need To Pray for the homeless, the sick, and those who are having difficulty in this life.

We Need To Pray, for this world, which is quickly spiraling down a slippery slope. Not that we can save it, but we can snatch some from the fire.

We Need To Pray, for the saints that in these last and evil days that they will be able to stand, suited in the armor of God, so they can quench the fiery darts of the evil one.

We Need To Pray, for God to give us the courage to stand on his principles and promises. Many claim to be in the army of the Lord, but we need to pray for the coward soldiers. For God doesn’t want, don’t need, and can’t use, a coward soldier.

We Need To Pray, for our children and grandchildren that they will stay connected to God, and to one another, for there is strength in unity.

We Need To Pray, for the sinner, that he or she will come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and make him Lord of their life. For we know, that at the name of Jesus, every knee is going to eventually bow, and every tongue is going to confess, that He is Lord.

We Need To Pray, that we will be in that number when the trump of God sounds, and the dead in Christ rise, that we who are alive and remain, will be caught up to meet them in the air. For then, there will be no more sadness. No more broken hearts or despair. No more trials and tribulations. No more dying, and no more crying. All preaching will be over. For Heaven will be our home for eternity. This is where the wicked will have ceased from troubling, and the weary are now at rest, and all of the saints and the angels are sitting at His feet and being blessed.

We Need To Pray.

Healing Begins In Your Heart and In Your Home Part 2

~ Healing Begins In Your Heart and In Your Home! ~

Part 2

STOP THE MADNESS

GOD really does have a better way.

Should children be corrected? Yes indeed! But think before your buttons are pushed like a remote control. Proper correction is always done in love. Learn to correct and control yourself before you try to correct them. If not don’t expect them to do any differently. For they will simply model your behavior. Do you treat them the way you want to be treated? Think about how You would feel if it were you, being treated the way you treat them… To break a cycle you must do something differently.

IF you don’t have self-control yourself; simply remove yourself momentarily from their presence unto you can discipline them properly. Afterall you are supposed to be the responsible adult.  Begin to set yourself and them free at the same time.  Admit you need to develop healthy boundaries. You become what you practice. Yes please do correct them and also correct yourself. REPENT!

LET’S STOP the VIOLENCE! Violence begats violence.  There is too much violence going on all throughout this world. Get BETTER, not bitter. Get real, this does not have to be. Many have lived wrong for so long this is all that they know. Get aware and make it a point to lessen the frequency of emotional, mental & physical, abuse and really EMBRACE LOVE!  Remember; LOVE IS PATIENT! Not the distorted worldly definition of love but GOD’S LOVE that corrects, protects, makes, awakens, shapes and molds us in HIS IMAGE! GOD’S LOVE allows the FRUIT of HIS SPIRIT to flourish and abound within us. GOD’S LOVE  lasts through ETERNITY!

FRUIT OF HIS SPIRIT

But the FRUIT of the SPIRIT IS LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTORL. Against such is NO LAW. Those who BELONG to CHRIST JESUS have CRUCIFIED the sinful nature with its passions and desires, Since WE LIVE BY THE SPIRIT, let us KEEP IN STEP WITH THE SPIRIT. Let us become NOT conceited, provoking and envying one another…”
GALATIANS 5

WORKS OF THE FLESH

“THE ACTS OF THE sinful nature are obvious sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealously, fits of rage, self-ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn You, as I did before, that those who live like this WILL NOT INHERIT the KINGDOM of GOD…”
GALATIANS 5

Live to Please the LORD in all that You do. DON’T just go to CHURCH. BE HIS CHURCH EVERYDAY…  Scripture is powerful. It is our necessary essential Spiritual Food. It is required in order to properly grow spiritually. “DO NOT CONFORM to this world! “Therefore, I urge You, brothers, in view of GOD’S mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, HOLY and pleasing to GOD ~ this is your spiritual act of worship. DO NOT CONFORM any longer to the pattern of this world, BUT BE TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING of your mind. Then you WILL BE ABLE to TEST & APPROVE what GOD’S WILL IS! HIS GOOD, PLEASING & PERFECT WILL.” ROMANS 12 (NIV) Be led by the Spirit of God!

God does not ask us to do something that is not possible. It is through HIM we are able to do what seems impossible to man. Whenever we solicit HIS HELP we should first desire that whatever we are asking for is in HIS WILL! God always knows what is best for us!

WALK IN THE LIGHT

It is very important to KNOW the difference between; THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT & The works of the flesh. To every problem GOD has a solution. We just need to seek HIS WILL & HIS WAY above the ways of man/woman. Look all around you and see with your spiritual eyes. Things have gotten out of hand. Think globally and look universally; See what is happening to families, marriages, relationships, governments, cities, nations, countries, life, within the Church and living life as a whole…

No doubt the horrendous impact of the Coronavirus plague and pestiilence, is a resulting consequence of what has been going on all throughout the world. All have been impacted one way or another.  Time out for foolishness. Things have gone too far… The “Latter Days” are upon us.

There is alwys HOPE in the LORD!

God is speaking we must get better at listening. Therefore, we ALL need CHRIST JESUS as our personal SAVIOR and LORD and HIS HOLY SPIRIT; HIS COMFORTER. HIS HOLY SPIRIT WILL LEAD US to ALL TRUTH! As we walk in TRUTH we allow the LORD to bring healing to our hearts, minds, bodies, souls as well as our homes… GOD IS THE GOD OF ALL COMFORTS! Begin to really TRUST GOD & HIS WORD and “WALK IN THE LIGHT!”
