Famine of Righteousness Part 2

Ezekiel models a godly lesson to the people

Ezekiel was a wise prophet. He went so far that he actually humbly acted out with great dramatization the need to be obedient. He personally modeled a thought provoking godly message to the people. To prove his point, he himself laid bound on his side facing a clay model of Jerusalem for 390 days. He ate a simple meal of wheat, barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt baked into bread cake weighing about 8oz, that was cooked on cows dung.

He then turned to his other side and lay there for another 40 days. This was an additional reminder to remind them of their 40 years spent wandering in the wilderness. Ezekiel went to great lengths to get their attention. He earnestly wanted them to return to the Lord. He even shared his vision of the corrupted Temple. They were experiencing a “famine of righteousness.”

There was absolutely no doubt that the “hand of the Lord” was upon Ezekiel. The Lord gave him graphic picturesque visions. The people however still simply refused to listen. Ezekiel personally experienced “The GLORY of the LORD” on many occasions. Over sixty times throughout the Book of Ezekiel he repeated “Then they will know that I am the Lord.” Ezekiel was known for his strangeness. He took grave measures to demonstrate his dedication to the Lord.

The many prophets before him had also been often ignored. Their unfavorable messages were overlooked and thought of as negative. Yet despite the odds God kept, sustained and strengthened them. The Lord said to Ezekiel; “Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you…” He said “Son of man I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; and they and their fathers have been in revolt against me to this very day. The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn…”

The Lord told Ezekiel to speak HIS WORD to them whether they listened or not. Ezekiel was given a scroll to eat. As he ate it, he said “So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.” They simply just did not want to receive the message that Ezekiel presented to them. God’s Word will yield conviction but there is a savory lasting sweetness when digested. They could not see how they had allowed the world, bureaucratic politics and its foreign customs and ways into the Temple. Ezekiel was able to experience the “Glory of the Lord” because of His obedience.

GOD is so AWESOME!

Many of the ways of the world have nested themselves in the midst the Church of God

Today it is really no different, the world and society in which we live continuously attempts to embed its principles within the people of God. To make acceptable what God has said is not acceptable and to cloak and present itself as though one is practicing unconditional love. Yes, “God is Love”  but He is also a just God. According to Nahum; “The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, He will not acquit the wicked.” Deception is all about us. Today because of it we too are experiencing a “famine of righteousness.”

God’s principles for life and living are continuously put on the back burner. Ezekiel is such a good example because he had a real concern for the abuse that was taking place within God’s Temple. Sin was rampart among the people of God. Many of the leaders had simply lost their faith and were trying many alternative ways. They wanted the accolades of the people over the favor of God. Ezekiel was shown firsthand the “wicked and detestable things that they were doing.” They had banned together and plotted wickedness. They had embraced and accepted quite worldly practices and worship that was not acceptable to God. They had allowed the world into God’s Temple. The Glory of the Lord departed from the Temple.

True Worship

Pray all throughout worship. Manipulation does not move the Lord. Worship should never be about theatrics. There are many different modes of worship. Know this, God’s Holy Spirit is never not aware of what’s going on anywhere. This is true even if there are all types of emotional outbursts. Grief, sadness and the light or heavy normal burdens of life can bring forth sadness and tears. When this happens pray and place your focus upon the Lord. A sweet gentle release can come about. ” Rejoice in the Lord! Again I say rejoice! ” For our God is omniscient and therefore always knows about everything and everyone at all times. Peace, joy, meekness and self control are fruits of the Holy Spirit.

When deliverance is needed there will be all sorts of frantic emotional outbreaks. But this is not praise it’s pain and suffering… One must be led by His Holy Spirit to know and discern when and when not to respond. It is also a time to pray, focus and intercede for chains and depressive burdens to be broken and lifted… It is during deliverance we petition and evoke the infilling presence of the Lord to intervene and cast out doubt, fear, torment, pain, demonic influences, and anything that is not of Him… This is a time for deep intense fervent intercession. Always keeping in mind God is never far from us… Yes do praise and thank the Lord when deliverance comes forth.

Yes, we can freely worship and praise the Lord. However, we should always be mindful that our worship & praise is to God! Our almighty fortress God is forever worthy of “True Worship.” We need to daily ask for the infilling presence of His Holy Spirit. Yes, this world is on a “slippery slope”. Yet, we can still depend on the Lord God to keep us safe even in the midst of an unstable world. Even when we know this world is experiencing a “famine of righteousness.” Therefore, stay on, the ” Narrow Path “ that has fewer travelers. It is very important to know that despite how things appear; “God is always ultimately in control.”

Stay focused upon the Lord; don’t become distracted

Ezekiel again is a wonderful memorable example. He displays how God may require you to do some things and give up some things. Some of the customarily practiced traditional behaviors should be abandoned. Being those things that distract from who God is; rather than welcome His presence. Worship should not be out of habit or simply a learned behavior. It is a natural expression of praise, thanks and appreciation towards God. From a carnal perspective many simply cannot comprehend this. They do not see that many hinderances have been adopted… When God reveals something to you respond or do not respond accordingly. Looking through the lenses of one’s spiritual eyes you can better grasp the spiritual significance of the action.

God always leaves a remnant of His people. He always has something better for us. There is always more with the Lord. He wants us to grow in His grace, wisdom and knowledge. He does not ever want us to be stuck in mediocracy. He wants to manifest and multiply the Fruit of His Spirit within us. This is why it is so important to know firsthand the Word of God for yourself. This way you are not just towed along with whatever is going on. Sometimes we are to observe. God’s Word is rich and powerful. It contains a plethora of lessons of disobedience, betrayal, rejection, spiritual warfare, power, and love. Christ Jesus became the Word wrapped in sinless flesh. He conquered sin in the flesh for us all. True victory is always found in the Lord and abiding within His principles.

God sometime requires us to do some seemingly strange things. Sometimes we are to observe and pray. When God’s Spirit is with you, you can expect to at times to be ridiculed, misunderstood or rejected. It is in seemingly hopeless situations that God is able to do a great work through you or to you.  We are to remain disciplined and alert.  There is nothing more important in life than your relationship with the Lord.

Benefits of the believers faith

Our faith, hope and trust must always be in the Lord. Jesus Christ’s life, death, crucifixion and resurrection were for a great purpose.  It is because of Him we have been bestowed with eternal life. It is by faith we walk in obedience to our professed salvation.  Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Life as a Christian comes with a plethora of benefits. As we embrace and implement the truth of His Word we spiritually grow. Hebrews 4 tell us, “For the WORD of GOD is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Each day is a precious gift from the Lord. We should always be able to find something to be thankful for.

We as believers are to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. This should be our first priority.  In the Lord we can forever strive and thrive! Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.  We are to contend for the faith! Daily we have the opportunity to grow in His grace, wisdom, knowledge and understanding. God always has a personal interest in the lives of His children, even when there is a “famine of righteousness.”

CHRIST in You the HOPE of GLORY! Part 1

CHRIST in You the HOPE of GLORY!

Part 1 Success 4

God our Heavenly Father Creator & Maker wants all of us to experience His deep abiding inner peace. This does not mean that we will never have any conflict. Quite the contrary. It means that whenever chaos and mayhem is going on about us we can remain calmly centered in the midst of it. It also means that we remain cognizant as to what is happening all around us. To pray for increased spiritual discernment and insight as well. We are to learn to discipline ourselves to focus upon the Lord instead of whatever the issue at hand might be. We then humbly must yield to His Will & His Way! This in turn will begin assisting the process of lightening our load. By giving the situation over to the LORD we are trusting Him for the outcome. Spiritual healing is an ongoing process. There is always hope when we trust & believe in the Lord!

As we grow in His grace, we meekly proceed with caution when unpleasant situations arise. Not out of fear but by choosing to become disciplined and respond in patience. As we meditate upon His Word and embrace His truth; this also allows the load to begin to shift to Him. We learn how to respond responsively in the moment rather than impulsively react whenever conflict arises. As we yield to Him He molds & shapes us into His image. This is what an intimate relationship with the Lord is really about.

We receive a cavernous insightful perspective in regards to life as we stay connected to the Lord. This is how we blossom spiritually. We begin to daily embrace and be governed by His principles and elect to draw closer to Him. We relinquish wanting to be right just for the sake of being right. We want what the Lord wants for us over our own desires. We want His grace to abound in our lives therefore we submit to the leading of His Holy Spirit. When in question we must wait and “Be Still & Know!” The Lord then begins to multiply within us the Fruit of His Spirit.

Without an ongoing growing intimate personal relationship with the Lord through Jesus Christ, you will miss the true purpose of life & living! You will be towed right along and tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, belief, concept and custom as well as tend to readily subscribe without question to the many traditions of man. You will also be unconsciously shaped into the ways of this world rather than the character of God. Tradition in itself is not bad, but it should not be used to get you to conform to the desires of man only to label you disobedient when you do not adhere to their way of being… It is so very important to know the Word of God for yourself.

God is Omniscient! There is absolutely nothing that we cannot learn from the Lord as we yield ourselves to Him. He will direct us to the necessary resources to facilitate further spiritual growth. As long as we are on this side of Heaven there is still room for improvement. We are here to grow and live out the principles of God’s Word! When we have learned whatever is necessary to complete this phase of life we begin the transition towards going homeward to meet Him.

Understanding comes from God. He can open our eyes and give us better insight in any and every situation. HIS abiding Holy Spirit awaits to lead us on the path of righteousness on the marvelous journey for truth & eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

God’s Holy Spirit abides within us who believe! Our body becomes the temple where His Holy Spirit the Comforter resides. We must in turn ask to be filled over and over again.

Intimacy With God ~ The Desired Destination Part 1

Clouds 5
Intimacy With God –
The Desired Destination

Intimacy with God should be a desired destination. Intimately knowing God not only for what He has done; but for whom He truly is and what He will do makes all the difference in the world. It gives you a personal endearing relationship that is encompassed with spiritual depth. Intimacy really can be quite liberating. God knows what is beyond the surface. It is important to know this because it will help you to have a genuine reverential respect for His Word and a desire to walk in His ways. When He becomes the center of your life it gives your life purpose. It also gives your life balance. Psalms 145 says “Everyday I will bless You and Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised”You also realize that worship is not just something you attend. It is really how you live before Him each and everyday wherever you are.

Have you ever noticed right before you attend a “worship service” you can find a level of anxious banter; everyone in their little cluster groups chit chatting about some of everything? Once the service begins, it‘s as almost, as though all of that joy is hushed? A solemn subtle quietness is ushered in. Then its business as usual? I have often wondered if that same enthusiasm or vigor continued what a difference it would make in the overall tenor of the service. For some it’s really become just a social gathering. Is there anyone or anything more important than the Lord? Did you know that we do not go somewhere to experience His presence? There is absolutely no where you can go, nor is there nothing that He is not aware of. Perhaps if we reserved some of that enthusiasm for Him our “worship” would be different not only on Sunday but everyday. What if intimacy was the desired destination; how would that impact things differently?

The Word of God has a multiplicity of illustrations depicting the difference God’s presence can make. The city of Corinth was known for its depravity. The Church that was established in Corinth was surrounded by much carnality. True but sad some of the worst sins were found amongst the church members. It was on Paul’s second missionary journey that he further established the Church in Corinth. There was a worldly culture which was one of the most prevalent problems within the congregation. It was hard for a lot of the believers to depart from their old ways. This is one of the primary reasons why Paul wrote not only one but two epistles to the Church in Corinth. Paul’s intent was to correct some of their behavior. He desired that the members establish a close deeper personal and intimate relationship with the Lord. He knew that this would make all the difference in the world.

The scripture says “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Many stop right here. But if you continue on you will find; “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, Yes, the deep things of God…………..” God desires that we go deeper in His Word.It is here your understanding can be opened; here you will find intimacy. It is His Spirit He wants us to receive, not the spirit of the world; there is a huge difference. This is how you can know the things that “He has freely given us.” It is important to know what the works of the flesh are as well as the Fruit of His Spirit. God does not want any of us ignorant to His will nor His ways.

Are You Pleasing God ?

Are You Pleasing God?

Our life focus as Christians should be to please God. Webster defines honor as: merited respect: social courtesies or civilities extended by a host. Glory: to rejoice proudly; a ring or spot of light or a state of great exaltation. God is truly worthy of all the honor, glory and praise. We can never please people but we can sincerely attempt to live a life pleasing to GOD.

We must commence transforming our internal thought process. We must erect a spiritual edifice that exudes God is my focus. Saying giving honor is not really giving honor. We must retreat from the classical conditioning of the world and truly embrace the principle of “let this mind be in you that is also in CHRIST JESUS.” Does this mean we become flawless? No, of course not! The Word teaches us that the  flesh is weak.  “All have sinned and fallen short of His glory.”  But we can learn to be strong in the Lord. We can become complete in the Lord.  We can be washed by the precious blood of  Christ Jesus!

It is only through His power can we overcome the weaknesses of the flesh. The victory is always in Christ Jesus. We must strive to please God rather than man.  We can call upon Him as our Savior and Lord 24/7! The spiritual things of God can not be understood from a carnal perspective. The Pharisees were great examples. Knowing about God is not knowing God. Christ said too truly love Him is to keep His commandments.

The trials we face in life should be viewed as character building lessons. God is a Spirit of Truth and we must embrace the truth however painful. On the other side of pain is hope. When our hope is in the Lord we should begin to release the reigns of worry. God really does have it all under control. We don’t have to manipulate anything or anybody. If we earnestly; “…Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to our own understanding and in all our ways acknowledge Him.  He will direct our paths.” God will not put more on us than we can bear. When our load seems unbearable we must make a spiritual adjustment. You must shift your focus to the Lord!  Jesus has said “that His yoke is easy and His burdens are light.” We must learn to give Him our burdens.

We must sometime learn to retreat when the spiritual warfare becomes unbearable. Not out of fear but simply giving it over to the Lord.  We must really let go and allow God to intervene. Stop playing tug-a war (giving Him the problem and taking it back). We must ask, pray and seek whatever His will is for us in all situations. Remember during spiritual warfare He tells us; when you have done all you can do STAND! God deserves the glory. It is when things seem hopeless His miraculous power shines through.

In the midst of spiritual warfare there is much distortion. There is a tendency to  read things into things that are not so. You will often  speak when you should be silent. Don’t respond impulsively. Quite often much  misinterpretation is present and  the motives of others are questioned. We must learn to become objective and ask ourselves is God pleased? We can’t change anything that has happened. But we can learn that it is always best to seek God’s direction.

If you know your motives are right it really doesn’t matter what it looks like to others.

When they don’t understand He Does. The adjustment has to be internal. To experience inner peace we must learn to hide His WORD within our hearts that we might not sin against HIM! We must begin to reprogram our minds to respond spiritually rather than carnally. Just remember when we speak softly or not at all people will see it as a weakness.  Their perspective of power is being loud and forceful!  When we speak boldly those very  same  people will see it as uncaring or even arrogant. But yet they will justify whatever it is they do.

In the LORD WE CAN BE CONFIDENT!

When you disengage from a seemingly endless merry-go round of fight- fuss-makeup- breakup some often will feel abandoned. When you don’t give them what they want you will appear selfish. When you allow them to feel the consequences of their behavior you will appear unloving. Just know that God really knows why you do what you do. It is He who we must strive to please. Don’t procrastinate begin now. Press forward and let it become your daily goal to please Him. There are many things that just won’t be understood on this side of heaven. You can rest assured that those who seek the truth, delight themselves in Him will receive the desires of their hearts. Heaven will be our eternal place of rest! Hallelujah anyhow!

I must say again we can’t please people.  But,  we can make a sincere effort to live each day to please God. He  is our Creator and Maker, He has created us to praise, worship, and honor Him. We must learn to nourish ourselves with HIS WORD. Apply its principles to our lives and allow the fruits of His divine and Holy Spirit to permeate our being. We are to let our lights shine. Jesus died for us! Jesus was persecuted, mistreated, misunderstood and disliked. Yet He never sinned or did ANYTHING WRONG. He conquered sin in the flesh for us.  He offered Himself as a living sacrifice for the sins of the world.  He died so we could live better spiritually enriched lives.

We are to be the “Salt” of the earth. We are to preserve and embrace God’s principles for life and living everyday.

Christ Jesus is the Living Word.

There were places Jesus went that due to unbelief little progress was made in the lives of some of the people  Not because of Him but because of them. They wanted him to conform to their ways  instead of having their lives transformed through Him.   Yet He continually remained faithfully focused to the mission of His Father God.  They were unable to benefit from what He had to offer. They were shallow minded and spiritually blinded by their own traditions.   It was not  change that they really wanted,  but control. They wanted Him to do what they wanted… We too can expect some of the same.

I truly believe  God has a plan for the life of each one of His children. But in order to discover that purpose you must  be committed and connected to Him. You never have to force yourself upon others.  Nor do you have to  adapt to their environment.  You must be willing  to develop an intimate up close personal  relationship with the Lord. You must be willing to submit to His Will and His Way. Through the power of His Holy Spirit we can  most definitely become spiritually whole. We must always be ready and willing to share with others the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

GOD is truly amazing and HE can make the impossible POSSIBLE!

God wants you to know Him from the inside out.  It is inside the  heart of believers  He comes to reside. He wants to be a part of every area of your life. He wants to reveal Himself to you, “To whom God would make known what is the mystery among  the Gentiles; which is  CHRIST IN YOU; THE HOPE OF GLORY.”  COLOSSIANS 1

In these “Last Days” you must remain firm in your FAITH!

You must be willing to  step out on faith and trust God.  Allow Him His place in your life as the Author and Finisher of your Faith!  God is more than able to help you to do and accomplish whatever He calls you to do. Know this; “Whenever two or three are gathered together in His Name; He is in the midst.”   The key is being gathered together in His name.  To want His Will  & His  way over  everything else. Truly having God in your life makes all the difference in the world. we can: “…Be strong in the LORD, and in the POWER OF HIS MIGHT. Put on the full Armor of GOD, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil… Ephesians 6  The victory is always  in our Lord &  Savior  Christ Jesus! This way He gets all the credit!

LIVE EVERYDAY: “TO GOD BE THE GLORY!”
